My first voting experience

  • Why is voting important?
Because people with disabilities living in a community like what everyone
else is doing and we also have a voice where we can share our thoughts. We
also want to be educated about the elections and who to vote for. You can
also use your resources to help you educate and comprehend yourself and
    who to vote for.
  • What was your first voting experience like?
My first voting experience was good. The people who worked there were
very helpful and very nice. I had my mom as my support person with me and
helped me when I was voting. I made a list of who I was voting for and my
mom helped me with how to turn the pages and find the names of who I was
voting for. And when I did my signature at the table to get the ballot they
asked me if this was my first time voting and I said yes and they rang the bell
for me. Before going to vote I was educated and used my resources on who
to vote for. I have a neighbor who is the ward 3 council person for my city
where I live. And she is another support person for me and helped me with
educating me for who to vote for.
  • Voting and accessibility
I had my mom as my support person with me and helped me when I was
voting. I made a list of who I was voting for and my mom helped me with
how to turn the pages and find the names of who I was voting for. The place
where I was voting was accessible because there was a ramp for those who
    needed it.
